Company to develop Mekong beach as popular tourist attraction in Vientiane
A private company seeks to put the Mekong River beach in front of Sithan Neua village, Sikhottabong district on the map as one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vientiane in a bid to attract more domestic and foreign visitors. Sithan Neua Mekong Beach was officially opened to the public on Lao New Year holidays and the company plans to propose Vientiane authorities to keep the beach open until the beginning of the rainy season, President of Fa Watthana Co., Ltd. Mr Kongfa Phoummasack told Vientiane Times recently. He said this was the second year that the company had provided facilities at the beach but it observed that there was still much room to increase the number of visitors.
